Martin Kofsky has been practicing law since 1992 and has practiced in a number of areas of the law during his career but since 2003 he has concentrated his practice in family and marital.

When Mr. Kofsky earned his J.D. in 1992 from St. Thomas University School of Law, he was the valedictorian of his law school class. Mr. Kofksy earned his M.H.A. from Florida International University, with honors, in 1985 and his B.A. from Long Island University in 1982.

Mr. Kofsky prides himself on his ability to assist his clients through the difficult legal, emotional and financial challenges that often accompany divorce and other family law proceedings. His broad-based experiences in industry and private practice make him particularly well suited to understand the complex personal, financial, and strategic issues that divorce and family cases present and deal with them effectively. A skilled counselor and advisor, Mr. Kofsky will demystify the legal process for his clients so that they are able to understand and participate in the preparation and presentation of their case in the most effective manner possible.

Mr. Kofsky’s passionate representation of his clients is based on his ability to quickly understand the dynamics of a dispute and then bring it to closure using the right combination of aggressive representation, finesse, sound advice, and counseling. Time and time again, Mr. Kofsky delivers complete family law solutions for his clients. Mr. Kofsky holds the unyielding belief that where possible, family law matters should be resolved through constructive engagement and negotiation before litigation but with his yearsof experience,he will stand and fight for his clients with the tenacity and skill that have been the hallmark of his success.

Before joining Yaffa Family Law Group, Mr. Kofsky practiced in his own firm and, before that was Special Counsel to the international law firm of KL Gates, working on commercial litigation, health care and securities matters and served as Sr. Vice President and General Counsel for Neighborhood Health Partnership, Inc., where he was the member of senior management responsible for overseeing all of the legal and compliance needs of this large regional HMO. Mr. Kofsky has also served as a healthcare and corporate attorney for Sparber, Kosnitsky, Truxton, Spratt & Brooks, PA.and served as a Judicial Clerk with Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeals.

Mr. Kofsky is a member of the Florida Bar and a member of the United States District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. He serves on the Florida Bar Education Committee and has served on the Family Law Rules Committee and is an Executive Member of the American Bar Association Trial Practice &Techniques Committee. Mr. Kofsky is rated by SuperLawyers, has written a number ofarticles on family law topics and delivers lectures of family law topics relating to family law to local bar associations.
