Joy Vs. Pleasure

Did you know there’s a difference between joy and pleasure? Joy is something that you feel inside of you and pleasure is something that you receive from an external source.

Pleasure is usually packaged in a box of sorts and you pay for it. It’s something like a great glass of wine, good food, a massage, or engaging in something that you really enjoy.

Joy is something that comes from within. I feel joy myself when thinking about my four adult children and how three of them are in college and one has graduated – I think about how they’re really doing well, adjusted, and are in a happy place. That brings me a warm fuzzy feeling of joy.

Joy is generally a blessing. So as we enter into the holidays and are surrounded by our loved ones, capture the joy that you feel inside.

Pleasures are great. Sprinkle some pleasures on top of joy and that is the best combination, but too much pleasure can lead to other negative things. Be aware of that and Happy Holidays.

Wishing you an amazing week.
