Looking Forward: Building an Amazing Life

Good is the Enemy of Great

I try to think of Monday Messages that I truly feel inspired about and want to share with others.

I recently watched a documentary on David Foster, the famous Canadian musician, composer, and record producer, who has worked with amazing talents such as Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand, and Celine Dion, just to name a few.

He truly influenced and impressed me with his love and dedication for what he does, which made me think of how we could all incorporate these lessons into our lives.

Find something you love and go with it, so you have the passion to always move forward and it doesn’t become old and stale.

At the end of the documentary, he states “Good is the enemy of great.” What he meant by that is never be satisfied with good. If you have a passion for something you should strive for greatness.

A few weeks ago, we talked about how overemphasizing the details can lead to perfection anxiety. Sometimes, B+ work needs to be acceptable to not live in procrastination.

The overall theme of these two lessons is don’t get stuck in the “norm.” Wake up every morning and be energized and excited by what you do.

Think of it as great work you give to the world.

Stay healthy in mind and body
