Spot, Stop, and Swap

I want to talk about the practice known as “Spot, Stop and Swap”. I was reminded of this practice by the new book How to Think Like a Monk by Jay Shetty.

The first thing you want to do is spot what is triggering you to feel uncomfortable, anxious or overwhelmed. Is it a conversation with a particular person? Is it when you go to the office?

The next thing you want to do is stop. Live in the feeling – don’t avoid it and don’t distract yourself from that feeling. Try to understand where it’s coming from and why it’s there.

Then, you swap it with an action that makes you feel good and benefits you. For example, it may be a podcast, a special friend that always lifts you up, taking a walk, or even talking to me as a life coach.

Now, it’s your turn to try “Spot, Stop and Swap” to help you with feelings that don’t serve you and becoming your more productive, better self.
Stay healthy in mind and body and have an amazing week.
